Field programmes are direct grass roots interventions in remote villages.

The objective of the field programmes is to establish sustainable people's institutions based on the process of self-help and empowerment. These have been organised to learn and develop appropriate systems and procedures that can be managed by the poor and illiterate population living in highly adverse social conditions.

Manavodaya works in almost 100 remote villages in Sitapur district,  through a number of interventions:

v

Sustainable self-help institutions. Self help groups and their federation are vehicle of these institutions

v

Local planning to incorporate aspirations of villagers in government plans

v

Organic farming to help the villagers enhance their livelihood base by decreasing their costs
